Morbius does not escape tradition, the film with Jared Leto is entitled to two post-credits scenes. Didn’t you understand everything? We explain to you.

Viewers are getting used to it. At Marvel, we don’t hesitate to play the extensions, and after the credits often have to sit in the dark waiting to discover the famous post-credits scenes.

In the MCU, rare are the movies that are deprived of it, just End of the game was not entitled to this preferential treatment. It must be said that the feature film intended to close a large chapter for the license, so there is nothing surprising about it.

At Sony we are also entitled to these kinds of little surprises, and Morbius he gratifies us with two post-generic sequences. Quite enigmatic scenes for those who have not seen the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe, but quite significant for fans. So, here’s everything to remember from Morbius’ post-credits scenes?

The Vulture is back to play tricks

main antagonist of spider-man: homecomingThe Vulture camped by Michael Keaton had been low-key ever since. After being pulled out of harm’s way in Tom Holland’s first solo adventure in Peter Parker, he was obviously spending a few days in the shade.

While Spider-Man’s post-credits scene made us think he was already planning his escape, the multiverse has arguably picked up the pace. Adrian Toomes lands in the Morbius reality, intending to face the spider again.

In addition to allowing Michael Keaton to don the costume again, this sequence also has the merit of placing Morbius in the vast MCU timeline. The plot obviously takes place some time before the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home.

The scene also confirms that Morbius is almost officially integrated into the MCU, just like Venom who entered at the end of no way home.

Towards crossroads?

With the exception of Spider-Man, the superheroes operated by Sony Pictures have thus far never met Disney characters. Captain America, Iron Man or even black widow, Marvel and Sony have so far made it a point of honor to separate these licenses. Do not mix kitchen towels and napkins.

However, the introduction of the Vulture in Morbius reshuffles the cards, we’re not immune to a crossover in the years to come. Especially since the character played by Jared Leto will obviously join forces with the Vulture to destroy the friendly neighborhood spider.

Well, we have to tell you that we didn’t fully understand this reversal of the situation, whereas the movie never featured Michael Morbius as a true antagonist. This inconsistency is no doubt a way for Sony to introduce one of their upcoming projects: a Sinister Six reunion.

Report of the Sinister Six

If you’re not familiar with Marvel comics, this name probably means nothing to you. Still, the Sinister Six are prominent members of the brilliant franchise, which Sony obviously wants to exploit on the big screen. We have already met some of its members.

The Sinister Six or Sinister Six in Molière’s parlance, is a team of supervillains that evolves in the comics created by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko. It first appears in T.The Amazing Spider-Man Annual #1 in 1964. Originally, it was Doctor Octopus who was the lead, before being replaced by many antagonists revolving around Spider-Man.

Legendary members include the Vulture, Electro, Kraven, Mysterio, and the Sandman. So many characters that have crossed paths with Spider-Man on the big screen and that Sony will visibly bring back to the front of the stage. Venom, who was entitled to two movies at Sony, also made a notable move with the Sinister Six alongside Scarab and Scorpion. The latter two, on the other hand, are completely new to Marvel.

For now, Sony has not confirmed the start of such a project. We do know, however, that the studio is already working on a Spider-Man sequel, still with Tom Holland in the lead role. It’s hard to imagine the firm wanting to bring back all these beautiful people to face Spidey again, the operation would certainly be redundant.

On the other hand, we can imagine that Sony wants to afford its suicide squad, a movie about endearing villains who must come together to save the world. To find out more, it will probably be necessary to wait until the release of the next Sony film in theaters.

The date is set for January 18, 2023, with Kraven: The Hunter (another Sinister Six). Directed by JC Chandor, the film will star Aaron Taylor-Johnson as Sergei Kravinoff. The actor is no stranger to the Marvel universe, as he played Quicksilver in Avengers: Age of Ultron.
